Officine Panerai, the watchmaker founded in Florence in 1860 that became the official supplier Italian military, is coming out with a new limited edition timepiece celebrating the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge. Only 500 pieces of the Luminor 1950 Regatta Rattrapante 44mm will be produced. Its distinctive cushion-shaped Luminor case in stainless steel features a black corrosion-resistant DLC (“Diamond-Like Carbon”) treatment.

The split-second chronograph is coated in Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) for durability while sailing or fighting bad guys, and only500 numbered examples were produced! Waterproof to 100 meters or 10 bar, this iwc replica watch has a screw-down back plate which is burnished and engraved with the logo of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge, along with the edition year and the model’s identifying numbers and production number.

The black dial is decorated with a fine hobnail pattern and displays a peripheral tachymeter scale and luminous hour markers and dual chronograph counters. Water resistant to a depth of 100 meters, the watch features a 42-hour power reserve. The chronograph mechanism features a split-seconds complication for independent timing of separate yacht races. The Luminor 1950 Regatta Rattrapante has automatic OP XVIII calibre movement, 13 ? lines in diameter, with double column wheel - distinctive elements of high-quality rattrapante chronographs. The rattrapante or split-second chronograph allows timing of two events starting at the same time, thanks to a second hand that can be stopped and then realigned with the first while the latter continues its course. The third button, at 8 o’clock, stops and realigns the second hand. With its polished decorated surfaces and levers.
The new Luminor 1950 Regatta Rattrapante has a leather strap with burnished buckle bearing the Panerai logo. It comes complete with a spare strap that can be fitted with the tool provided.

Panerai Luminor Chrono Daylight 44mm Titanium

Sharing the key dimensions and technical specifications of the existing stainless steel model, the Panerai Luminor Daylight 44mm Titanium will be characterized by a brilliant blue metallic dial. The Daylight 44mm Titanium will also showcase Panerai’s new bracelet design which features asymmetric links which with polished contact points; the engineering is intended to offer optimum comfort, as well as optimal harmonization with the various elements on the case. Panerai’s signature crown locking lever, a screw down caseback, and a curved sapphire crystal enable water resistance to 100 meters.

The blue dial of the Luminor Chrono Daylight 44 mm Titanium is completed with hour markers and Arabic numerals coated with luminous material, the same as the hour and minute hands and the smaller hands in the sub-dials of iwc Portofino. The continuous seconds sub-dial is positioned at 9 o'clock, the chronograph hour counter is found at 6 o'clock, and the minute counter is at 3 o'clock. The date function is presented via a window at 4.30.
The Panerai Luminor Chrono Daylight 44mm Titanium is animated by the OP X11 caliber, a self-winding movement which has obtained a chronometer certificate from the Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres (COSC). In addition to a chronograph complication with hour and minute counters, it features a small seconds display and a rapidly adjustable date function. Power reserve is 46 hours.
